Some called her Marion, some Aunt Marion, but as a wee child, I guess I could not say Marion, so she became Aunt Mammie.
Coming from a high strung Scottish family, the first generation born over here in the United States, I will have to say Aunt Mammie was the most "firey" of the large family.
She has always been in my life. She fiercely loved her family. The most important person to her was her son Steve. In her later years, he did almost everything for her, and as she told me in the rehab center, he was her everything.
I will always remember our family reunions when all of the family would get together and share a laugh or two. Aunt Mammie was always right in the middle of everything.
I can only imagine the wonderful reunion that was waiting to greet her at the Pearly gates to welcome her home.
Rest in Heavenly peace lass.
Love your God Daughter,
Janet Mae
