Obituary for Penny Jeanne Osborne-Horsley (Osborne)

Penny Jeanne Osborne-Horsley (Osborne)
Penny Jeanne Osborne-Horsley, 47, a resident of Cordry Sweetwater in Brown County, Indiana went to be with Lord on Sunday, May 13, 2012. She passed away at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin due to cardiac problems. She suffered from kidney and liver failure for ten years and faced many setbacks and health issues. Through it all she continued to be persistent in her never failing faith. This made her an inspiration to everyone she came in contact with from good friends to perfect strangers. Many friends and acquaintances said she was the strongest person they knew. One individual put it this way, “Penny’s commitment to the Lord can no more be expressed in words than holding the sun in my hands”. Penny will be missed by many people. She was a member of Franklin Memorial Christian Church, was on the board of Brown County "We Care Gang", and an advocate for the National Kidney Foundation.
She was born August 7, 1964 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Billie and Wanetta Murdock Osborne. She married Robert Horsley on December 23, 1983 in Terre Haute, Indiana; he survives. Other survivors include her daughter Jacqueline Horsley of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother Patrick Osborne (Cynda) of Terre Haute; in-laws Carl and Rose Horsley of Terre Haute; sister-in-law Christina Alverson (Mike) of Indianapolis; two nephews, Kyle Osborne and Jeremy Baker; and one niece, Shaina Alverson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Mike Osborne.
The Reverend Larry McAdams will conduct a service Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 1 P.M. at Franklin Memorial Christian Church, 1720 North Graham Road in Franklin, Indiana. Friends may call Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M. and Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 12 noon until service time at the church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana. Swartz Family Community Mortuary And Memorial Center in Franklin is handling the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, New York, 10016 or at www.kidney.org/DonateNow. Online condolences may be sent to the family at: www.swartzmortuary.com. Information; 317-738-0202.
