Freda Eck (Eldridge)
Freda (Eldridge) Eck, 54, of Columbus, Indiana passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana.
She was born June 3, 1955 in Franklin, Indiana to Lloyd Eldridge and Nancy (Meador) Eldridge. She married Larry W. Eck on December 19, 1977 in Columbus, Indiana; he survives.
She was a 1973 graduate of Franklin Community High School. She was a former member of Faith Evangelical Christian Church in Franklin. She had been an administrative assistant for the Cheryl Sweeney Halik State Farm Insurance Agency in Franklin. Previously she had served as an administrative assistant for State Farm Insurance in Houston, Texas and Blue River Vocational School in Shelbyville, Indiana. She also had served as an executive secretary for Central Nine Career Center in Greenwood, Indiana.
Survivors include her husband, Larry W. Eck of Columbus, Indiana; a daughter, Erika Eck Swanson and her husband, Curt, of Indianapolis, Indiana; a son, John L. Eck and his wife, Angela Johnston Eck, of New Whiteland, Indiana; her mother, Nancy (Meador) Eldridge of Franklin, Indiana; three sisters, Monica Eldridge Eck and her husband, Gary, of Mason, Ohio, Paula Eldridge Ramey and her husband, Rodney, of Columbus, Indiana and Carolyn Shaw and her husband, Ron, of Franklin, Indiana; two brothers, Larry Eldridge and his wife, Patricia, of Fort Myers, Florida and Marty Eldridge and his wife, Shalonda, of Franklin, Indiana. She was preceeded in death by her father, Lloyd Eldridge.
The Reverend June Barrow will conduct a service Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 7:30 P.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary And Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton Street (US 31) in Franklin. Friends may call Tuesday, May 4 from 3 P.M. until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory for a scholarship fund for students attending Franklin Community High School Central Nine Career Center. Checks may be made to Swartz Family Community Mortuary And Memorial Center, with the fund to be established at a later date.
