Obituary for Sara (Welty) Robards

Sara (Welty) Robards, 56, of Needham, Indiana passed away Wednesday January 24th, 2018 at her home in Clark Township after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on December 14, 1961 in Franklin, Indiana to Richard and Caroline (Taylor) Welty.
She married the love of her life Greg W. Robards on June 4th, 1988 at Rocklane Christian Church. She was a 1980 graduate of Triton Central High School, a graduate of IUPUI, and a member of Rocklane Christian Church.

Her list of accomplishments is short compared to who she was as a person. She was a homemaker, school bus driver, a committee member of Southside Young Life, and incredible friend to so many. She hated pulling weeds and loved a good glass of wine.

Survivors include her husband Greg Robards of Needham, IN; three adorable children, Samantha Robards, Gretchen Robards, and Taylor Robards all of Needham, IN; her father Richard Welty of Needham, IN; and mother-in-law Marlene Welty of Needham, IN; her brother, Keith (Valerie) Welty of Parkville, MO; as well as many family members and close friends.

She always wanted grandkids and finally got a grandpup, Keller.

She was preceded in death by her mother Caroline (Taylor) Welty; brothers David and Todd Welty; and uncle Thomas Taylor.

Sara's words to live by "Choose joy, enjoy every day, it's a really great way to live your life."

Pastor Kayla Hurst will conduct a service on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11AM at Rocklane Christian Church, 4430 Rocklane Road in Greenwood, IN. Friends may call Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 3-8PM at the church and Monday, January 29, 2018 from 10AM till service time at the church. Burial will be in Rocklane Cemetery in Greenwood, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Young Life Southside Indianapolis, 4631 Lisborn Drive, Carmel, Indiana, 46033 or at www.southsideindy.younglife.org. Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN is handling the arrangements.
