Obituary for Marcia Carolyn (Hamilton) Price

Marcia Carolyn (Hamilton) Price, 86, of Franklin, IN, formerly of Edinburgh, IN, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Compass Park in Franklin, IN. She was born April 18, 1931 in Edinburgh, IN to C.C. Hamilton and Orintha (Pruitt) Hamilton. She was the widow of Estill G. Short.
Marcia was a graduate of Edinburgh High School. She had worked all of her career at David R. Webb Company in Edinburgh, IN in the human resource, accounts payable, and receivable departments. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had been involved in church work and serving others.
Survivors include her children Randy Short (Judell) of Edinburgh, IN, Michael Short (Melinda) of Shelbyville, IN, George Richard Price (Connie) of Brown County, IN, Mary (Short) Lowery (John) of Minnesota, Susan (Price) Ault of Franklin, IN, and Sheila (Price) Wooten (Jim) of Franklin, IN; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a brother David Hamilton of Huntsville, AL; and a sister Julia E. Hamilton of Franklin, IN.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Meredith Hamilton, LeRoy Hamilton, Paul Hamilton, Wayne Hamilton, Francis Hamilton; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will have a time of gathering and sharing on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 2PM to 4PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Burial will take place at noon Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, IN. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.swartzmortuary.com. Information at 317-738-0202.
