Betty Jo Heiliger
Betty Jo Heiliger (nee Raybould), age 89, died peacefully on January 23, 2017 at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana.
Betty is survived by her children, James Heiliger of Franklin, IN (Stephanie); her son Christopher (Terry) of Burnsville, MN; her daughter Pamela Ward (Thomas) of Racine, WI; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald "Dale" Heiliger of Brazil, IN and her parents Joseph and Rose (Harris) Raybould of Brazil, IN.
Betty was born on March 19, 1927 in Brazil Indiana to parents Joe Raybould and Rose Raybould (Harris). Betty was baptized at the age of 16 on Easter Sunday following her testimony of faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She graduated from Brazil High School in 1945 and married Gerald (Dale) Heiliger upon his return from the war in Europe in 1946. As a young lady she worked in the telephone office in Brazil. The young couple settled in Hammond, Indiana; later moved to Plainfield, Indiana; Slidell, Louisiana, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Betty retired from AT&T in 1992; she and Dale then moved to the Indiana Masonic home in Franklin, Indiana.
Betty was a life-long member of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed shopping, ceramics classes at the Home, having her family visit, and eating at Gray's restaurant.
A funeral is scheduled for Betty on Saturday January 28, 2017 at 11AM at the Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call Saturday from 10 am until the 11AM Service at the mortuary A Christian burial at the Mount Calvary cemetery in Brazil where she will be laid to rest with her husband and parents at 3 pm on Saturday.
