Obituary for Ronald A. Barnes

Ronald A. Barnes, 86, of Franklin, IN passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, IN. He was born April 11, 1930 in Brown County, IN to Charles Arlen Barnes and Ruth Mae (Boren) Barnes. He married Betty L. (Fischer) Barnes on November 7, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN, she preceded him in death on March 19, 2016. He had been employed by United Technologies in Indianapolis for thirty years. He was a member of Gracepoint Church in Whiteland, IN, and former member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Greenwood, IN. He enjoyed mushroom hunting and family functions.
Survivors include his son, Brian Barnes of Greenwood, IN; three grandchildren, Jhaunna Simpson of Edinburgh, IN, Cherl Owens of Edinburgh, IN, and Crystal Stinson of Indianapolis, IN; a niece Sandy Wells of Franklin, IN; two nephews Billy Bay of Whiteland, IN, and Bud Bailey of Martinsville, IN; several great-grandchildren, several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter Brenda Owens, a brother Charles Richard Barnes, and two sisters Marilyn Barnes Bay and Maxine Barnes Maxwell.
The Reverend Zach Scellato will conduct a service Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:30AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin where friends may call Monday from 10AM till service time at the mortuary.
