Lois Alene Moore, 87, of Bargersville, IN passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN. She was born January 10, 1929 in Lothair, Perry County, KY to Daniel Boone Moore and Emily (Rowland) Moore. She married Paul George Moore on December 6, 1947 in Connersville, IN, he survives. They were married for over 68 years. She was a member of the Nazarene Church. She enjoyed music, playing the keyboards including the organ and accordion, and singing hundreds of songs entirely from memory. She and her husband spent twenty-one winters in Bradenton, FL. She had been service advisor for United Telephone Company later becoming Century Link for thirty years, retiring in 1992.
Survivors include her husband Paul George Moore of Bargersville, IN, a daughter Pauletta Moore of Bargersville, IN; two sons James W. Moore (Vickie) of Greenwood, IN, and Don E. Moore (Julie) of Washington, IN; eight grandchildren, Jamey Hinchman (Elishaba) of New Palestine, IN, Jesse Payne (Rod) of Nineveh, IN, Anthony Moore (Holly) of Summerville, SC, Kyle Moore of Indianapolis, IN, Wesley Moore of Greenwood, IN., Amanda Moore, Megan Moore, and Daniel Moore all of Washington, IN; and nine great-grandchildren; sisters Eva Blanton of Franklin, IN, Helen Jarnigin of Kankakee, IL, Glenda Tuttle (George) of Connersville, IN, Jean Doulen of Connersville, IN, Wanda Mills (Bob) of Glencoe, KY; brother Danny Moore (Rosalie) of Kansas City, MO, and sister-in-law's Nancy Moore and Erma Moore both of Connersville, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Herman Moore, Jim Moore, and Ray Moore.
The Reverend Max Downs will conduct a service Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Wednesday, June 29, 2016, from 4-8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Franklin, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, 140 Branigan Road, Franklin, IN 46131. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.swartzmortuary.com.
