Obituary for Judith A Weddle (Yarnell)

Judith A  Weddle (Yarnell)
Judith A. (Yarnell) Weddle, 81, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at her residence.
She was born Feb. 28, 1935 in Dover Hill to Walter and Louetta (Smith) Yarnell.
She married Gerald K. “Jerry” Weddle on July 7, 1956 in Dover Hill; he preceded her in death on April 17, 2010.
She was a 1954 graduate of Shoals High School.
She was a longtime member of Amity Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served on several church committees.
She also had served as a Cub Scout leader.
She had served as a secretary at Edinburgh High School. She and her husband along with their sons built Deer Valley Golf Course which opened on May 21, 1986.
She enjoyed painting, reading, doing yard work and was an excellent cook. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her two sons, Douglas K. Weddle and his wife Kimberly S. Weddle of Franklin, and Kimuel J. Weddle and his wife Kari M. Weddle of Greenwood; grandchildren Noah K. Weddle of Franklin, Lindsey M. (Weddle) McGuffie (Bobby) of Flowood, Mississippi, Mariah A. Weddle of Franklin, Kaleb R. Weddle, Karina J. Weddle, Kolton D. Weddle, and Khloe L. Weddle, all of Greenwood; the first expected great-grandchild, Marleigh Grace McGuffie; three brothers, Roger Yarnell (Delores) of Greenwood, Loren Yarnell (Judy) of Shoals and Charles Yarnell (Paula) of Swayzee; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The Rev. Ron Ellis will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
