Elvadene Sharp (Cochran)
Elvadene Sharp, 75, of Bargersville, IN passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN from battling a stroke and seizure disorder for many years. She was born May 5, 1940 in Liberty, KY to the late Andrew Jackson Cochran and Anna Shay (Fox) Cochran. She married Coy Sharp on May 24, 1958 in Liberty, KY, he survives.
Elvadene worked in nursing at the Indiana Masonic Home Hospital in Franklin, IN for over forty years. She was a longtime member of Amity Baptist Church in Franklin, IN. She was also a “Red Hat” lady. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she enjoyed just being with them.
Survivors include her husband Charles Coy Sharp of Bargersville, IN; daughter Angie Sharp Parmer of Whiteland, IN; four grandchildren, Andy Arnold (Emily), Ciara Duke (Cameron), Lauryn Sharp (fiancé Zach), and Abby Pittman (Jordan), three great-grandchildren Cohen Duke, Zeke Pittman, and Claire Arnold, sisters Maxine Bell, Mary Grider, Shirley Brandenburg, Judy Jarvis and Wonetta Burns, brothers Andrew Cochran, Gerald Sharp, Ray and Wanda Sharp, Carlon and Iva Dean Sharp, Marshall and Bonnie Sharp, and Kenneth and Joyce Sharp.
She was preceded in death by her son, Barry Sharp on September 3, 2006; a brother Charles Cochran; and her parents Andrew Jackson Cochran and Anna Shay (Fox) Cochran.
Friends may call Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 2-6PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN where a service will be conducted at 6PM. The Reverend Wanda Sharp will conduct a service Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 1PM at McKinney - Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, 42539. Friends may call Monday, March 28, 2016 at McKinney–Brown Funeral Home from 4-8PM. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery in Liberty, KY.
