Click here to view all obituariesI have so many stories I could share about Darald, but one that sticks out is one from when we were in band together in high school We think of Darald as a the laid back, nice, guy that brought happiness in the air. He seemed to have no super worries about anything. Well, you never would think that he would get so wound up should he make an unnoticable mistake. When we were in band, Darald played the cymbals. Once we were in Middletown Ohio performing in a marching band competition. Darald hit the cymbals together when he was not supposed to have hit them. Fortunately, no one heard his mistake, but he sure did. He cried for a long time and was so upset. He just knew we lost the competition because of his mistake. So... at award time, the bands were all standing anxiously awaiting the results. They announced each winner from the top 5. Finally, there were two bands left and one spot for 1st place. The announcer said, "First place goes to.....Emmerich Manual High School". We won 1st place. Darald was so happy. His face was white as a ghost because he thought we lost, but the pressure was off his shoulders and a smile on his face.
I'm missing you very much Darald. Love you forever! Rest in peace!
