Helen Louise Yoder McClintic (Porter)
Helen Louise (Porter) Yoder McClintic, 97, of the Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin, Indiana passed away Monday, March 11, 2013. She was born on February 22, 1916 in New Castle, Indiana to Carlos and Mildred (Carey) Porter. She married Dilmer Edmond Yoder on June 18, 1935 in Columbus, Indiana; he preceded her in death on April 17, 1996. She then married Morris McClintic in November of 1996 and he preceded her in death in 2008. She was a homemaker. She and her late husband Dilmer farmed together in Nineveh Township and that is where they raised their children. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher, a member of Martha’s Circle, and the Crusaders Sunday school class. She loved being with her family and playing the piano. She was a 1935 graduate of Alva Neal High School in Frankiln.
Survivors include son Philip E. Yoder (Kay) of Bargersville, Indiana; daughter Evelyn L. Gardner of Franklin; grandchildren Renee Yoder Williams of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ann Vansickle (Jerry) of Trafalgar, Indiana, Nancy Morton (Jeff) of Trafalgar, Greg Gardner (Carol) of Greenwood, Indiana, and Judy Brandt of Franklin; eight great-grandchildren Cara Whitley (Bert), Amanda Smith (Tony), Kelly Hampton (Joe), Abby Morton, Kyle Brandt, Mark Brandt, Kristen Gardner, and Holly Gardner; eight great-great-grandchildren, Bryce, Maggie, Jacob, Daniel, Deacon, Dylan, Drake, and Dawson; and a half-brother, Robert Porter (Nell) of Live Oak, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother William George Porter, half-sister June Bryant, and grandson Ryan Yoder.
The Reverend Rick Henry will conduct a service Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 1 P.M. at the Wright Chapel of the Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson Street in Franklin, Indiana. Friends may call from 11 A.M. Wednesday until service time at the chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
