Obituary for Harrel Harry LeBlanc

Harrel Harry LeBlanc, age 89, died April 30, 2019 at the Otterbein SeniorLife Community in Franklin, IN. Harrel was born March 18, 1930 in Kaplan, LA to Dewey and Marie (Abshire) LeBlanc, both deceased. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas in 1948 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and therafter in the Army Reserves. Harrel was employed by Machinery Associates, Inc. of Narbeth, PA., retiring in 1991. He was a life member of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Bowling Association.
Harrel married Shirley Bond LeBlanc. She preceded him in death on July 2, 1966. They had two daughters, Deborah Lynn, born in 1956 and Cheryl Beth, born in 1958. Harrel married Marjorie L. VanMatre on June 22, 1968. Marjorie adopted Deborah and Cheryl and Benjamin was born in 1969.
From their marriage they have been blessed with eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; Niki Nuas (deceased), Amy Sagona, Grace, Adam and Raiden Dorente (parents Deborah and Harry Dorente), Bryan and Brandon Mowery (parents Cheryl and Gilbert Mowery), and Katherine, Claire, Aidan, and Nora LeBlanc (parents Benjamin and Erin LeBlanc; and two great-grandchildren Audrey and Avery Sagona (parents Amy and Andy Sagona).
A private family service will take place in the Chapel of Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community with burial in Miller Cemetery in Middletown, IN conducted by Reverend Lecia Beck, Pastor of Risen Lord Lutheran Church in Bargersville, IN.
