Donald Lee Mathena, 72, of Bargersville, IN passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019. He was born January 14, 1947 in Franklin, IN to Loren LeRoy Mathena and Rose Mary (Peavler) Mathena. He was a 1965 graduate of Brown County High School. He was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Trafalgar, IN. He had been a union brick layer for over 30 years.
Survivors include his daughter Resa J. Stewart and son-in-law Tom Stewart of Franklin, IN; a grandson Norman Kase Stewart of Franklin, IN; brothers Thomas Mathena (Linda) of Franklin, IN and William “Bill” Mathena (Marsha) of Trafalgar, IN; nephew William Mathena (Lisa) of Trafalgar, IN; a niece Jennifer Burton (Esten) of Bargersville, IN; great-nephews Dalton Burton and Wyatt Burton; and great-nieces Karlie Burton and Ellie Mathena.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Kenneth Mathena.
The Reverend Ron Sodrel will conduct a service on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, where friends may call from 11AM Monday till service time at the mortuary.
