Obituary for Juanita Mae Wright (Sparks)

Juanita Mae (Sparks) Wright, 90, of Franklin, IN passed peacefully from this life into her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Morning Pointe of Franklin surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 10, 1928, the oldest of three daughters to Ira R. and Hazel I. (Corlett) Sparks in Elwren, IN.
Juanita attended grade school at “Hogbottom” until that area was absorbed into what is now Camp Atterbury. Her family then moved to Spencer, IN where she graduated from Spencer High School in 1946. After graduating, she came to Franklin to begin her working career at R.C.A. in Indianapolis, IN. During that time, she met her life’s mate on a blind date. Juanita married C. Noble Wright on February 5, 1950 in Spencer, IN. They have celebrated 69 devoted years of marriage together.
Juanita and Noble opened Wright’s Marathon together in 1954 and worked side by side until their retirements. Juanita continued to manage the bookkeeping until her health declined. Juanita devoted her life to her most cherished titles; Christian, wife, mother, and mamaw. Her arms were always open, a smile was always on her face, and her home was always in order and open to all. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and was active in church activities all of her adult life. Juanita has served the Lord at Victory Bapitst Church in Whiteland, IN for the last 26 years.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years C. Noble Wright of Franklin, IN; daughter Kathy Handley and son-in-law Jim of Franklin, IN; son Bob Wright and daughter-in-law Nancy of Franklin, IN; grandchildren Jill Ross (Bill) of Franklin, IN; Kiley Leugers (Brandon) of Franklin, IN, Zachary Handley (Kelly) of Momence, IL, and Andrew Handley (Shannon) of Trafalgar, IN; great-grandchildren Jared, Caleb, Alex, Aubrey, Norman, Logan, Jordan, and Harper; a sister Velma Griffith of Terre Haute, IN; a sister-in-law Juanita Gosser; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister Margaret Lou Sparks, and a sister-in-law RoseMary Vaught. Pastor Mark Felber will conduct a service on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at Victory Baptist Church, 1340 Tracy Road, Whiteland, IN. Friends may call Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 4PM till 8PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN.
