Obituary for James Willard Dyer
James Willard Dyer, 87, of Franklin, IN passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community. He was born April 30, 1931 in Gravel Switch, KY to Harry and Florence (Whittman) Dyer. He married Josie Ann (Perkins) Dyer, she preceded him in death on February 6, 2016.
He had worked at Arvin Automotive in Franklin, IN for 48 years. He enjoyed purchasing old bicycles and parts and repairing them. Since the age of six, James worked to help support his family and was dedicated to his job and responsibilities. Survivors include his children Gary Dyer (Bettie) of Franklin, IN, Ronnie Dyer of Indianapolis, IN, Patricia Dyer Pear of Indianapolis, IN, Alan Dyer of Dublin, OH, Joan McManus (Peter) of Evansville, IN, and Rosa Star Dyer of Franklin, IN; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers Harry Lee Dyer, Jake Dyer, Frankie Dyer; sisters Mary Helen Wiser and Rosa Perkins.
The Reverend David Mark Owens will conduct a service on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 3PM at the Wright Chapel at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community, 1070 West Jefferson Street Franklin, IN, where friends may call from 1PM Thursday, March 21, 2019 until service time at the chapel.
