Obituary for Emory Matthew "Matt" McCourt III
Emory Matthew “Matt” McCourt, III, 65, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Logansport Memorial Hospital in Logansport, IN. He was born February 9, 1954 in Chester County, Pennsylvania to Emory Matthew McCourt Jr. and Patricia Ann (Rogers) McCourt.
Matt was a 1972 graduate of Center Grove High School and attended Butler University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Sharon (Clough) McCourt of Indianapolis, IN; siblings Gregory J. McCourt of Greenwood, IN, Catherine F. Duke (Dennis) of Boulder Junction, WI, Charles G. McCourt (Leticia) of San Antonio, TX, Kenneth R. McCourt (Janna) of Carthage, IN, Mary P. Colliluori (Tony) of Mawassas, VA, and Margaret G. Kress (David Futrell) of Centerton, AR; fifteen nieces and nephews; 8 great- nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law Nancy (Wiley) McCourt; and a nephew Michael R. McCourt.
Monsignor Mark Svarczkopf will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 3PM at Our Lady of The Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 South Meridian St, Greenwood, IN, 46143, with a visitation from 1PM till service time at the church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN. Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31, (Morton Street) is handling the arrangements.
