Obituary for Jessica L. Brunning (Burcham)
Jessica L. (Burcham) Brunning, 36, of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 16, 1982 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, IN to Jeff and Tonya (Smithey) Burcham. She married Brad C. Brunning on September 6, 2003 in Greenwood, he survives.
Jessica was a 2000 graduate of Franklin Community High School where she was a cheerleader. She was also a graduate of the Regency Beauty College in Greenwood, IN. She had been a hair stylist at Elite Salon in Franklin, IN for eight years and became the owner in 2014. She was a member of Emmanuel Church of Franklin, IN where she also volunteered. She loved Franklin and supporting local shops and in return was greatly loved by her community. She supported fellow cancer patients through their journeys. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida. She was a loving and devoted mother to her daughters and led and shared a common bond with other special needs parents.
Survivors include her husband Brad C. Brunning of Franklin, IN; her two daughters Lauren L. Brunning and Brenna C. Brunning, at home; parents Jeff and Tonya (Smithey) Burcham of Franklin, IN; two brothers Daniel Burcham (Tara) of Marysville, OH, and Blake Burcham (Brea) of Franklin, IN; maternal grandmother Eyvonne (Herald) Smithey of Shelbyville, IN; and paternal grandmother Glenda (Hudson) Burcham of Burleson, TX; father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles and Alison (Johnstone) Brunning of Whiteland, IN; sister-in-law Sarah Brunning of Franklin, IN; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Robert Leroy Smithey and paternal grandfather Benson Burcham.
Pastor Ashley Schneider will conduct a service celebrating the life of Jessica on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 2PM till 8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
