Obituary for Cecil Berry

Cecil Berry, 86, of Franklin, IN passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at his residence. He was born February 23, 1932 in Letcher County, Kentucky to James Berry and Pashie (Maggard) Berry. He married Joann (Smith) Berry on April 9, 1955 in Jonesville, Virginia, she survives.
Cecil owned and operated Berry’s Automotive Wrecking in Franklin for many years retiring in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and was avid about animals. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife Joann (Smith) Berry of Franklin, IN; a son David James Berry (Brenda) of Franklin, IN; a grandson David Scott Berry of Lafayette, IN; and a great-granddaughter Audrey Peyton Berry of Red Bowling Springs, TN; three sisters Yvonne Clark (Dorris) of Inverness, FL, Jeanette Kilbourne of Dearborn, MI, and Frances Baranowski (Ed) of McDonough, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Cyril Berry; and sisters Wilma Kilbourne, Iona Scott, Ruby Maggard, and Eulene Whitehead.
The Reverend Gary Smith will conduct a service on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 3PM till 6 PM at the mortuary. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
