Obituary for Bonnie Jean Griffin

Bonnie Jean Griffin, 84, of Dupont, Indiana, formerly of Franklin, IN passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Bonnie was born October 15, 1934 in Deering, Missouri to Tom Henry Smith and Vivian Irene (Forbes) Smith. She married Leonard E. Griffin Sr. on March 5, 1955 in Blytheville, Arkansas. They were married 57 years, he preceded her in death on February 7, 2013.

She devoted much of life to helping children. She worked as caregiver at a youth shelter for at risk teens, later operating a daycare facility. After retirement, she was a long time employee of Walmart in Franklin, IN as Jewelry Specialist. She enjoyed working puzzles and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her son Leonard E. Griffin Jr. of Dupont, her son Jeffrey T. Griffin of Franklin, IN, her son James C. Griffin II of Alabama; two granddaughters, Nicole Cross of Madison, Indiana and Brittany Humphrey (Mason Humphrey Jr.) of Franklin, IN; great-grandchildren Dason, Lacie Jean, Mason Jr., and Peyton; her brother Tom Smith Jr.; and her sister Nancy (Smith) Arthur both of North Vernon, Indiana; and her sister Wanda Ghigliano of Colorado.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard Griffin Sr., and her only daughter Laurie A. Griffin on May 9, 2014.
