Obituary for Claude Ray Hunt

Claude Ray Hunt, 87, of Greenwood, IN passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN. He was born December 1, 1931 in Trammel, Kentucky to Bev Claude Hunt and Beulah Rae (Newman) Hunt. He married Betty G. (Pruitt) Hunt on December 28, 1957 in Franklin County, Kentucky, she survives.
He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He had been a custom cabinet designer and builder of fine cabinets with his company Cabinet Design in Greenwood, IN for 27 years, retiring in 2007. He previously had been a machinist for American Bearing in Indianapolis, IN. He was a member of Emmanuel Church in Stones Crossing, Greenwood. He enjoyed bird hunting and spending time with his family.
Survivors is his wife of 61 years Betty G. (Pruitt) Hunt of Greenwood, IN; and his son Shannon J. Hunt and his fiancé Celeste Cole of New Whiteland, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Odessa Cox; and a half-sister Nova Shores.
The Reverend Zack Scellato will conduct a service Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4-8 PM at the mortuary. Burial with military honors will follow at Gardens at Olive Brach Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
