Obituary for Edna M. Perkins (Lautenbach)

Edna M. (Lautenbach) Perkins, 85, of Greenwood, IN passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born September 14, 1933 in Indianapolis, IN to Fred and Susie (Vandenberg) Lautenbach.
She was a 1952 graduate of Clark Township School. She married Richard S. Perkins on May 29, 1952 at Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church in Stones Crossing, Greenwood, IN, he preceded her in death on July 6, 2002. She had been a school bus driver for the Center Grove Community School Corporation for 25 years during that time she drove four years for the Special Education students at Center Grove. She previously had worked at Our Lady of the Greenwood and Greenwood Community School Corporation. She was a member of Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church in Stones Crossing where she was a member of the Agape Circle. She was a past board member of the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Board in Greenwood, IN. She volunteered for the Inter-Church Food Pantry. She enjoyed cross stitch, quilting, embroidery, and reading.
Survivors include her three children Randall E. Perkins (Nila) of Franklin, IN, Connie S. Perkins of Greenwood, IN, and Trudy J. Perry (Jeff) of Greenwood, IN; six grandchildren Richie Perkins (Sarah) of Bargersville, IN, Barbara Johnson (Chad) of Indianapolis, IN, Samuel Perry (Lindsay) of Noblesville, IN, Jordyn Deppe (Tom) of Indianapolis, IN, Braden Perry of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Benjamin Perry of Chesapeake, VA; four great-grandchildren Kaityln Layne, Parker Layne, Austin Perkins, Cameron Johnson, and Nora Jane Perry; a daughter-in-law Jodi Perkins of Bargersville, IN; a sister Margaret A. Dougherty (Alton) of Greenwood, IN; two brothers Ronald Lautenbach (Linda) of Greenwood, IN, and Donald Lautenbach of Greenwood, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Susie (Vandenberg) Lautenbach; her husband Richard S. Perkins a son Russell D. Perkins on February 16, 2009; a brother Harold Lautenbach and sisters Anna Phipps and Joan Tate and a sister-in-law Judy Lautenbach.
Dr. Ben Greenbaum will conduct a service on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 4-8 PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
