Obituary for Kimberly M. Walton (Wilson)

Kimberly M. (Wilson) Walton, 75, of Franklin, IN passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Ernest Jewel and Oralee Wilson on February 22nd, 1943 in a small house in Southport IN, while her new big brothers James and Rondall stood outside in the cold throwing rocks at the house.
The family moved to Boise, Kentucky where she lived until she was orphaned at 11 years old. She moved back to Indiana and lived with her older sister and brother-in-law Erma and Jack Byrum, whom she considered as her parents and their children (David, Kathy and Doug) her extended siblings. She Graduated From Greenwood High School in 1961 and married Kenneth Ray Gay the following year and was blessed with two sons Anthony and Timothy. She moved to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and lived with her sister Barbara Evans and Col. Sterns while her husband served in the Army. In 1968 she became a widow, when she lost her husband in Vietnam. She met Ernest Robert Walton in 1969 and married him in 1971. They both went to school for cosmetology and had a thriving business called Touch of Magic beauty salon. They worked very hard and one year later were surprised with a daughter Tiffany, while her sons stood outside the hospital screaming “put her back”.
As you know, life changes after sixteen years of marriage, she decided to move back to Indiana dragging teenage Tiffany kicking and crying all the way to her brother James and sister-in-law Sharon's home. She adjusted to her new life and worked very hard toward her goals. She was employed by the Perry Township School District until in 2008.
Along the way, she shared laughs, love, and life with an amazing man, Leon Myers until he crossed over to be with Jesus in 2017. She had a servants heart and would make everyone feel comfortable and at ease with their surroundings.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest Jewel and Oralee Wilson; and her brothers and sisters, Charles Wilson, Erma Byrum, Barbra Evans, Evon Gowan, Rondell Wilson, James Wilson, and Jerry Wilson.
Survived by her children Anthony Walton (Tracy) of Buckhorn, Kentucky, Timothy Walton (Marita) of Enterprise, Alabama and Tiffany Walls (Brian) of Indianapolis IN; eight grandchildren, Robert Cooley Walton, Katera Walton, Brandon Kaup, Steven Evans, Sam Walton, Rebbecca Walton, Kansas Coty Walls, Cameron Walls; and five great-grandchildren and one on the way.
