Obituary for Hugh O'Neil O’Malley

Hugh O’Neil O’Malley, 73, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Friday, January 3, 2019 at Sydney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born August 15, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to Hugh O’Neil O’Malley and Ann Madeline (Klein) O’Malley.
He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in South Bend, IN, and graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of the football team led by legendary coach Ara Parseghian. He had worked for Xerox.
Survivors include a daughter Anne O’Malley of Smyrna, GA; two grandchildren Riley Coogan and Malley Coogan both of Atlanta, GA; siblings surviving Mary Stucko of Newark, OH, Michael O’Malley of Remus, Michigan, Susan O’Malley of Homewood, IL, Margaret Kallas of Stuart, FL, and Timothy O’Malley of Elletsville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Kelly O’Malley Coogan on December 6, 2018.
Walter Steinfeld will conduct a service on May 10, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. with a gathering of family and friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South Morton St, Franklin, IN, 46131. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN. Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Franklin, IN is handling the services.
