Obituary for Andrew John "Andy" Nichols

Andrew John “Andy” Nichols, 41, of Clark Township, Johnson County, IN passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 27, 1977 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN to Charles R. “Chuck” Nichols and Yvonne R. (Vigue) Nichols. He married Abby D. (Dougherty) Nichols on September 2, 2006 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.
Andy was a 1995 graduate of Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis, IN and a 1999 graduate of Purdue University where he majored in agronomy. He was a member of Rocklane Christian Church in Greenwood, and Evans Scholar member. He was an avid golfer. He owned and operated Nichols Ag Consulting for fourteen years in Johnson County and previously had been employed by the Johnson County Soil and Water Conservation District. He was also active and involved with the family farm in Clark Township.
Survivors include his wife Abby D. (Dougherty) Nichols of Clark Township, Johnson County; his daughter Ellie Mae Nichols and son Tyler Clay Nichols both at home; his mother Yvonne R. (Vigue) Nichols of Brownsburg, IN;, brothers Tom A. Nichols of Indianapolis, IN, and Joe C. Nichols (Christy) of St. John, IN, father-in-law and mother-in-law David and Gwendy (Gant) Dougherty of Clark Township, sisters-in-law Jill Bay (Matt) of Nashville, IN, and Erin Hetrick (Matt) of Williamsport, IN; 3 nephews; and 5 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles R. “Chuck” Nichols on February 14, 1994.
Pastor Seth Amerine will conduct a service on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11 AM at Rocklane Christian Church, 4430 Rocklane Road, in Greenwood, IN. Friends may call Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 3-8 PM at Rocklane Christian Church. Burial will be in Rocklane Cemetery in Greenwood, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rocklane Christian Church Building Fund, 4430 Rocklane Road, Greenwood, IN, 46143.
