Obituary for Dona J. Roush (Green)

Dona J. (Green) Roush, 82, of Franklin, passed away at 6:38 p.m. Sunday, December 30, at Otterbein Franklin Seniorlife Community in Franklin from complications of dementia. She was born June 18, 1936, in Indianapolis to James and Dorothy Green and was the second of five children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell E. Roush on February 27, 1993. She is survived by four children: Lou Ann Wheat (Mike Stone) of Franklin, Debbie Sanders of Greenwood, David Roush (Bethany) of Franklinville, North Carolina, and Terry Roush (Karen) of Franklin; seven grandchildren: Greg Wheat of Danville, Lisa Renee of Greenwood, Amy Hodge of Enola, Arkansas, Candace Wheat of Whiteland, Jared Sanders of Indianapolis, and Noah and Lexi Roush of Franklinville, North Carolina, and Justin Perry of Whiteland; nine great-grandchildren, Bailey and Tyler Renee and Meadow Hinds, Hailey Roush, Skyler and Dakota Walls, Paisley Hodge, Dakota, Chloe and Davian Morris. Michael, Roman, and Claire Perry, Christian Ruczynski, Andrew Hodge and Amber Volz and three great-great grandchildren, Kendall, Korbin and Kinzley Volz.
Three brothers, Jim Green of Indianapolis, Roger Green of Indianapolis and Darrell Green of Morgantown; one sister, Evelyn of Brownsburg and one special nephew, Joe Green (Cheryl) of Pendleton.
She had a great passion for her family, flowers, sewing and cooking. She spent many years volunteering in area nursing homes, hospitals and events entertaining as a clown, Santa Claus and more. She retired from real estate in 2010 after 23 years. She had worked under Anchor Realty of Greenwood and Century 21 Skillman Associates of Indianapolis. She served several years as the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house mother at Franklin College. She spent many years working with the family business, Roush Electric, in Whiteland and Franklin. She had previously worked in sales for Sharon Bolt and Screw. She attended Grace Point Church in New Whiteland.
The Reverend Stan Glover will conduct a service on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Thursday from 4PM till 8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street Hospice 10 Highland Avenue Franklin, IN. 46131.
