Obituary for Jim Young

Jim Young, 66, of Bargersville, Indiana and formerly of Whiteland, Indiana passed away Saturday, November 27, 20101 surrounded by his family. He was born May 10, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Alton and Helen Emma (Rose) Young. He married Dena S. (Speedy) Young on December 10, 1982 in Indianapolis; she survives. Mr. Young served in the U.S. Air Force. Also, he worked many years for and later retired form both Ameritech (formerly Indiana Bell) and Johnson Controls in Indianapolis. He was a 1963 graduate of Ben Davis High School and a graduate of I.U.P.U.I. in Indianapolis. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood, Indiana where he served in the Stephen Ministry. He was an ordained minister serving at Chapel Creek Christian Church in Indianapolis. He loved his family and serving people.
Survivors include his wife, Dena S. (Speedy) Young of Bargersville; a daughter, Ashley L. Young of Clemson, South Carolina; a son, Douglas Paul Weber (Andria) of Ft. Hood, Texas; two grandchildren, Brayden Weber and Emily Fick; a brother, Richard Young (Patsy) of Indianapolis; and three sisters, Audrey High (Robert), Mary Maxine Gaimes (Lonnie), and Nancy Willoughby, all of Indianapolis. He was preceded death by brothers Robert Young, Alton Young, and Kenneth Young, and a sister, Helen Smith.
The Reverend Spence Tuttle will conduct a service at 11A.M. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, 381 North Bluff Road in Greenwood, Indiana. Friends may call Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 4P.M. until 8P.M. at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood.
