Donald James Smith, 71, of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018. He was born September 16, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN to James Paul Smith and Ardith Pearl (Long) Smith. He married Sharon A. (Ragland) Smith on July 3, 1975 in Franklin, IN, she survives. He was a 1965 graduate of Franklin High School.
He had been a self-employed contractor. He was a member of One Body Ministries in Indianapolis, IN where he was involved in ministries in the countries of Brazil, Chile, Barbados, and the state of Colorado in building facilities for missions.
Survivors include his wife Sharon A. (Ragland) Smith of Franklin, IN; children Becky Vest (Mike) of Trafalgar, IN, Jill Della Fave (Phil) of Indianapolis, IN, Gina Miller (Justin) of Indianapolis, IN, and Justin Smith (Jill) Trafalgar, IN; eleven grandchildren Kyle Vest, J.D. Stinson (Kylee), Brandon Stinson (Sydney), Shelby Medenwald (Jarred), Anthony Della Fave, Jackson Miller, Evan Miller, Grant Miller, Gavin Miller, Lane Smith, and Ella Smith; two great-grandchildren Knightly Stinson and Beckett Stinson, a sister Karen Miles (Gary) of Franklin, and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronald Smith.
