Wanda L. (Carey) Garcia, 95, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Franklin, IN passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at University Heights Health and Living Community in Indianapolis, IN. She was born November 30, 1922 in Franklin, IN to William Hobart Carey and Lola (Adkison) Carey. She married Angelo M. Garcia, he preceded her in death on December 5, 1964.
She had worked for St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, IN for sixteen years. She lived her life for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Joangela Parker (Gary) of Greenwood, IN, Charles R. Garcia (Susan) of Greenwood, IN, and Beth E. McKee of Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren Nicholas Gilmour, Christopher Gilmour (Tatia) and Leeangela Parker; two great-grandchildren Brynn Gilmour and Bentley Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter Nancy L. Reed on April 16, 2010; a brother Jimmy Carey; sisters Kay Setser and Betty Woods.
The Reverend Shan Rutherford will conduct a service Monday, September 24, 2018 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, where friends may call from 11AM till service time at the mortuary.
