Dale E. Copeland, Clark Township, Johnson County, IN.

The sun has set on the final harvest for Dale Edward Copeland, 89 of rural Clark Township, Johnson County, IN.
Dale passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at his home on the farm he shared with his wife, Pauline (Alexander) Copeland of 68 years, she survives.
Dale was born on the family farm in Clark Township, Johnson County, IN on December 26, 1928 to Elmer and Frances (Boner) Copeland.
Dale and Pauline were married on December 30, 1949 at Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ just outside of Acton.
They moved to their family farm in 1956 and a few years later, Dale started driving the school bus for the Clark Pleasant Community School Corporation and drove for 35 years until he retired in 2004. In true farmer fashion, Dale never really retired from farming.
Dale loved his barn, electrical work, and biscuits and gravy. He waved at almost everyone who passed. Throughout his life, Dale never lived outside a two mile radius from the house he was born in.
His legacy is his family, surviving is his wife Pauline I. (Alexander) Copeland of Clark Township, IN., sons Steve T. Copeland (Becky) of Clark Township, IN., Randy Copeland (Lisa) of Alma, IL., son in law Mike Downey (Kim) of Bluffton, IN., six grandchildren Kim Kohne (Jeff) of Ellettsville, IN, Jason Downey (Tracy) of Bluffton, IN, Rodney Copeland of Fairland, IN, Whitney Cole (Mark) of Paxton, IN, Shane Copeland of Cape Town, South Africa, and Lindsey Copeland of Indianapolis, IN, 16 great grandchildren Michiael, Logan, Kailey, Angel, Corban, Tegan, Esther, and Xavier Downey, Joshua and Samuel Kohne, Robert, Ava, and Stephen Copeland, Oliver Cole, Lilly and Elijah Music. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sharon K. Downey on February 10, 2004, brothers Eugene Copeland, James “Buster” Copeland, and a sister Laura Jane Copeland Lawson

Pastor Seth Amerine will conduct a service on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Friday, September 14, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Acton Cemetery.
