Carol L. (Stephenson) Brown, 79, of Banta, IN passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin, IN. She was born August 22, 1938 in Crawford County, IN to N.G. “Pete” and Hilda Faye (Byrd) Stephenson. She married Marion L. Brown on January 20, 1958 at 810 East Iowa Street in Indianapolis, IN, he survives.
She was a 1956 graduate of Leavenworth High School in Leavenworth, IN where she was a cheerleader. She was a former member of 1st Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin, IN and attended the Church Of The Bible in Franklin, IN. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Marion L. Brown of Banta, IN; a son Justin T. Brown and daughter-in-law Laura Brown of Banta, IN; two grandchildren Ethan T. Brown and Ella S. Brown, both of Banta, IN; a sister Shirley J. Haney (Bill-deceased) of Greenwood, IN and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Steven L. Brown on June 8, 1973; a brother James M. Stephenson (Edna-living). Pastor Richard McKnight will conduct a service on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN where friends may call from 11AM Saturday until service time at the mortuary.
