Obituary for
David Eugene Harbert
David Eugene Harbert, 76, of Greenwood, IN and lifelong resident of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 7, 1941 in Beech Grove, IN to Laddie L. and Mary Edna (Beck) Harbert. He married H. June (Jolly) Harbert on June 3, 1962 in North Vernon, IN, she survives.
David was a 1959 graduate of Center Grove High School, was a member of the Greenwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 5864, and the Bricklayers Allied Craftworkers Local 4 IN/KY. He had served in the United State Army for 32 years having served in Desert Storm and retired as Master Sergeant. He also had been a tile setter for Blakley’s Corporation in Indianapolis, IN for over 30 years. He was a dedicated family man. He was known for his sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife H. June (Jolly) Harbert of Greenwood, IN; daughter Analeise Harbert Fletcher of Greenwood, IN and son Nathan W. Harbert of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren, P. Tyler Fletcher of Greenwood, IN, Derek Bradley Fletcher of Greenwood, IN, Alyssa Kathleen Harbert (Josh Moorehouse) of Indianapolis, IN, Valerie Marie Harbert of Indianapolis, IN, Riley Janyle Harbert of Indianapolis, IN, and Lucian Wayne Hanuel Harbert of Indianapolis, IN; three great-grandchildren Mica Edward Fletcher, Tristan Alexander Moorehouse, and Ah’Nia Melae Harbert; a sister Susan J. Hobson (John) of Greenwood, IN; two brothers John A. Harbert of Camby, IN and R. Edward Harbert (Nancy) of Greenwood, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law Paul Edward Fletcher on May 27, 2011.
Pastor Keith Williams will conduct a service Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Monday, July 16, 2018 from 4-8 at the mortuary. Burial with full military honors will be in the Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
