Mary Ann Powell, 72, of New Whiteland, IN passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN. She was born October 14, 1945 in Linton, IN to William Pete Powell and Katrina Mae (Williams) Powell.
Mary Ann was a graduate of Whiteland Community High School. She had served as Pleasant Township Trustee for 35 years and previously was the Whiteland town manager. She was a member of the Johnson County Republican Party where she had served on various committees and the Johnson County Republican Women’s Club. She had dedicated her life to serving the people in Pleasant Township of Johnson County.
Survivors include her daughter Kelly Suzanne Crosby (David) of St. Augustine Beach, FL and her son Bradley Scott Morning of New Whiteland, IN; and grandson Dustin Wayne Cook of St. Augustine Beach, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother William Pete Powell, Jr. on December 9, 2016.
The Reverend Larry McAdams will conduct a service on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, where friends may call from 11AM till service time at the mortuary.
