Obituary for Ruth A. (Humphrey) Webb

Ruth A. (Humphrey) Webb, 88, of Franklin, IN. went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Compass Park in Franklin, IN. She was born February 15, 1930 in Otterbein, IN. to Wilbur and Ima (Fulks) Humphrey. She married her elementary school sweet heart John R. Webb on June 12, 1948 in South Bend, IN., he preceded her in death on September 28, 2014. She was a graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High School class of 1948 in South Bend where she played the clarinet for five years in the band.
Ruth worked for different employers with the last two being the engineering secretary at Wheel Horse Products in South Bend for 23 years and First Christian Church in Mishawaka for 10 years. She and her husband John square-danced and bowled for many years. She also joined her husband with Clowning and Magic for 25 years as he was “Oopie” and she was “Rudie” the clowns. She was a member of the Ransford I M H Chapter #605 Order of The Eastern Star in Franklin, IN.
Survivors include her two sons John R. Webb II (Deana) of Mishawaka, IN and James A. Webb (Reva) of Danville, IN; five grandchildren John R. Webb III, Jamie Webb Parker, Bryan Webb, Heather Webb, Oliver Webb; step-grandchildren Becky George (Chris), Derrick Parker (Jennifer), Shelby Smith (Brendan), and Brandon Campbell; three great-grandchildren Zachery Webb, Kaleb McDonald, Kendra McDonald; four step great-grandchildren Andrew George, Katelyn Parker, Alyssa Parker, and Sydney Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers Donald (Virginia) Humphrey and Wilbur (Alice) Humphrey.
Friends and family visitation begins at 11 AM at the Kresge Chapel at Compass Park, 690 South State Street in Franklin, IN on Saturday July 7, 2018. The Ransford I M H Chapter #605 Order of The Eastern Star Service will conduct a service at 1 PM with a funeral service to follow being conducted by Reverend Charles Stanley and Chaplain Elaine Clark. A graveside chapel service will be conducted on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 12 Noon at Good Shepherd Chapel at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN, 46561 with burial to follow. Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. is handling the arrangements.
