Obituary for William Thomas Stubbs

William Thomas Stubbs 90 of Indianapolis, IN. passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Southpoint Health Care Center in Indianapolis. He was born September 21, 1927 in Middletown, Ohio to Levi Thomas Stubbs and Sallie Ann (Amyx) Stubbs. He married Marjorie J. (Webb) Stubbs on August 24, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio, she survives. He had been a self-employed contractor. He was a former member and past president of the Carmel Lions Club and was a member of the Southport United Methodist Church. He enjoyed making furniture and doing yard work. He was a WW II United States Navy Veteran.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie J. (Webb) Stubbs of Indianapolis, IN, his five children Patricia A. “Trish” Rahke (Don) of Bloomington, IN, Joan E. Stubbs of Indianapolis, IN, David Lee Stubbs of Indianapolis, IN, Robert A. Stubbs (Marilynn) of Indianapolis, IN, and Nancy J. Copeland (Kevin) of Greenwood, IN, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one niece, and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers John Alden “Jack” Stubbs and Charles Amyx Stubbs.

A celebration of life service will be conducted by Robert A. Stubbs on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 5:30 P.M. with Military Honors at Southport United Methodist Church 1947 East Southport Road in Indianapolis, IN. with a time of gathering and sharing from 4:30 P.M. till service time at the church. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Fairmound Cemetery in Camden, Ohio. Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. is handling the arrangements.
