Obituary for Robert S. "Bobby" Betts

Robert S. “Bobby” Betts, 68, of Franklin, IN passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 at Our Hospice
Columbus Regional Health in Columbus, IN. He was born June 17, 1949 in Franklin, IN to Gerald
Noble and Lillian Marie (Warner) Betts. He was a United States Navy veteran.

Bobby was a retired firefighter having served the city of Franklin, IN for over 30 years. He had
several hobbies and passions. He enjoyed fireworks, gun collecting, the pursuit of the unknown,
religion, the weather and the stars. A star is named after Bobby. He also loved to watch old
Sammy Terry movies, gave the best gifts, loved to travel around the United States, take evening
drives, was a computer guru, was a HAM radio operator, and loved his coffee. His deepest passion
was his love of animals. He loved his dogs. He had a servant’s heart and did many charitable deeds
and helped those in need.

Bobby is survived by a daughter, Monica Leigh Woolbright (Allan); six grandchildren Shekinah Leigh,
Simmone Damaris, Silas Darnell, Simeon Allan, Solomon Israel, and Shiloh Michael; one great-
grandchild Ellinore Ruth; a brother W. David Betts (Robin) of Franklin, IN.

According to Bobby’s wishes services will be private.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN. Swartz Family Community Mortuary
and Memorial Center, 300 South Morton St, Franklin, IN is handling the arrangements.
