Emerson C. "Buz"  Moulden
Emerson C. “Buz” Moulden, longtime Franklin, IN resident passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born June 12, 1941 in Indianapolis, IN to Paul Cecil Moulden and Eulalia M. (Hagemier) Moulden. He married Carol L. (Day) Moulden on June 15, 1973 in Greenwood, IN, she survives.
He had been a purchasing agent for Paden Engineering in Hope, IN for 18 years, retiring in 2002. He previously had been employed by Bethlehem Steel and Central States Bridge in Indianapolis, IN. After his retirement, he had been a host and cashier at the Bob Evans Restaurant in Franklin, IN for 15 years and assisted in the grounds maintenance at the Legends Golf Course in Franklin, IN for 15 years. He was a member of Amity Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, pitching horseshoes at the Johnson County Fair and at Atterbury, and bowling, and was a member of the Franklin Men’s Bowling Association’s Hall of Fame in 2000, and was a NASCAR fan having attended the inaugural Brick Yard 400.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many people.
Survivors include his wife Carol L. (Day) Moulden of Franklin, IN; sons Michael A. Moulden (Laurel) of Huntsville, AL, Bryan S. Placek (Jill) of Shelbyville, IN, Craig E. Placek (Cindy) of Greenwood, IN, and Benjamin L. Moulden U.S.M.C. of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, D. Tyler Placek of Columbus, IN, Saaya Moulden of Okinawa, Japan, Emma Moulden of Okinawa, Japan, Matthew Placek of Greenwood, IN, Zoey Placek of Shelbyville, IN, and Cody Placek of Shelbyville, IN; a brother Carl Edward Moulden (Lee Thomas) of San Diego, CA; and a sister Lucille May Yurasko of Indianapolis, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Robert Allen Moulden; and a sister Elsie Marie York.
The Reverend Ron Ellis will conduct a service Monday, June 18, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 4PM till 8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
