Oklas James “Okie” “O.J.” Harold Jr. 62, of Greenwood, IN passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 9, 1956 in Warrington, England to Oklas James “O.J.” Harold and Carol K. (Kendrick) Harold. He married Debbie J. (Gammon) Harold on September 16, 1988 in Oahu, Hawaii, she survives.
He was a 1974 graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School in the Irvington Community of Indianapolis, IN. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served on the USS Biddle. He owned and operated alongside his wife and sons Debbie’s Ice Cream Delights in Indianapolis, IN since 1998. He enjoyed good music and a glass of wine. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual and also enjoyed letting his hair down and enjoying his family and life.
Survivors include his wife Debbie J. (Gammon) Harold of Greenwood, IN; two sons Travis J. Harold (Jackie) of Indianapolis, IN, and Derrick B. Harold of Greenwood, IN; a grandson Carter Harold; his father Oklas James “O.J.” Harold Sr. of Franklin, IN; his mother Carol K. (Kendrick) Harold of Franklin, IN; his sister Chandy Wilcoxon (David) of Trafalgar, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
The Reverend Thomas Knight will conduct a private funeral service. A Celebration of Life time of gathering and sharing will take place on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 1-4PM at the Thomas Carr Howe High School Auditorium, at 4900 Julian Avenue, Indianapolis, IN, 46201 where the U.S. Navy will be conduct military honors at 4PM.
