Donald R. Richardson, 71, of New Tazewell, TN, formerly of New Whiteland, IN passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at Tennova North Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was born March 8, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN to Paul and Thelma (Brown) Richardson. He married Sandra “Sandy” (Drane) Richardson on August 14, 1971 in Franklin, IN, she survives.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He had worked at Arvin’s Automotive in Franklin, IN for many years.
Survivors include his wife Sandra “Sandy” (Drane) Richardson of New Tazewell, TN, two sons Shan Richardson (Angie) of Greenwood, IN, and Brent Richardson of Martinsville, IN; six grandchildren Cody Richardson, Alivia Jennings, Gabe Richardson, Keeley Richardson, Gary Vinson Jr., and Keith Vinson; a brother Duane Richardson (Stephanie) of Franklin, IN; and a sister Diana Blades (Richard) of Upland, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Daryl Richardson and David Richardson.
The Reverend Mitchell Keck will conduct a service on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the mortuary. Burial with military honors will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
