Obituary for Richard Marcinko

Richard Marcinko, 79, of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 surrounded by his family at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin, IN. He was born July 18, 1938 in Uniontown, PA to Andrew and Katherine (Marchinko) Marcinko. He married Marie A. (Gudin) Marcinko on May 10, 1958 in Cleveland, OH and is survived by her.
He had been a manager for Sherwin-Williams Company for thirty-three years having opened the first Indianapolis, IN store at Washington Square, he retired in 1993. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin. He enjoyed serving as a Eucharistic Minister at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, going to the beach, boating, woodworking, Pop-Pop’s workshop, and Pug dogs. He and his wife resided in Panama City, FL for ten years.
Survivors include his wife Marie A. (Gudin) Marcinko of Franklin, IN; sons Dennis Marcinko (Donna) of Fishers, IN, Andrew Marcinko (Mick) of Franklin, IN, Stephen Marcinko (Barbie) of Tega Cay, South Carolina; daughters Deborah Roth of Indianapolis, IN, Patty Beidelman (Brian) of Greenwood, IN, Susan Leestma (Randy) of Carmel, IN, and Dyan Chavarria (Gil) of Indianapolis, IN; sisters Patricia Ritchie of Strongsville, OH and Janet Sandefur of Greenwood, IN; eleven grandchildren, Richard Marcinko, Stefanie Rodenbeck M.D. (Phillip), Taylor Marcinko, Tracy Petree (Josh), Aubrey Marcinko, Conner Beidelman, Dana Roth, Nathan Leestma, Jacob Leestma, Alexander Chavarria, and Kaitlyn Chavarria; two nieces and one nephew, and a special friend Bruce Beidelman of Greenwood, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Katherine (Marchinko) Marcinko; a son-in-law David Roth; and a brother-in-law Robert Ritchie.
Father Steven Schaftlein will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, in Franklin, IN. Friends may call from 10AM Wednesday, May 23, 2018 until service time at the church. Military honors will follow with entombment at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
