John “Timothy” Whetstine, R.N., 64, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Kent Hospital
Warwick, Rhode Island. He was the loving companion and partner of Anthony J. Rivers.
He was born in Franklin, Indiana Aug 14, 1954. He was the son of the late Virgil L. and
Juanita (Smith) Whetstine.

Tim moved to Rhode Island shortly after his high school graduation. He was a
registered nurse at West Shore Nursing and Rehab Center in Warrick, RI for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his sisters Nancy M. Pruitt, and Marcia L. Austin; and a brother Larry A. Whetstine;
and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; Marlene A. Foster, Janice F. Wood, Joyce K.
Kidwell, and Deborah L. Whetstine; and a brother Leroy E. Whetstine.

The Reverend Don Whetstine will conduct a celebration of life service Sunday, May 20,
2018 at 4:00 P.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South
U.S. 31 (Morton Street) Franklin, IN, 46131. Friends may call Sunday, May 20, 2018 from
2 P.M. until service time at the mortuary. Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial
