Obituary for Ernest Green

Ernest Edward “Ernie” Green, 82, of Franklin, IN passed away April 19, 2018. He was born November 26, 1935 in Clearwater, FL to Ernest Arthur Green and Jessie (Olds) Green. He married Constance “Coni” (Ball) Green on August 19, 1956 at The Marine Corps Protestant Chapel, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She survives.

He was a 1953 Clearwater High School graduate, Clearwater, FL. He joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 and achieved the rank of CWO3. He took the Marine Corps motto to heart, Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful.

Ernie was a member of the Marine Corps Reserve for over 40 years during which time he also worked in the private sector. He began his career at Burroughs Machine Corporation troubleshooting and repairing business machines. Ernie’s career evolved along with the technical industry and he began working on larger and more complex equipment. He joined Atlantic Research/Telenex where he managed and educated data communications professionals both nationally and internationally.

Survivors include his wife Constance “Coni” Green of Franklin, IN; two children Vicki Kindervater (John) of Bargersville, IN and Brekke Green (Lisa) of Lake Ariel, PA; six grandchildren Genevieve, Kathryn (Nick), Daniel (Abby), Emily, Andrew and Michael.

He was proceeded in death by his parents.

The Reverend Jenothy Rather will conduct a Celebration of Life Service in the Wright Memorial Chapel at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2PM with time of gathering and sharing from 1PM until service time at the chapel. An Open House from 3PM until 5PM will follow the service on Saturday at the Community.

Final inurnment will be in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater, Florida on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 10AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community, 1070 West Jefferson Street, Franklin, Indiana, 46131.
Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, is handling the arrangements.
