Katie N. Basbagill, 35, of Franklin, IN passed away, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN. She was born October 10, 1982 in Columbus, OH to Michael and Susan (Simmons) Basbagill.
She was a 2001 graduate of Whiteland Community High School and a 2004 graduate of Liberty University. She was a freelance photo journalist. She had traveled to over fifty countries having worked for several nonprofits. She was an adventurous person enjoying music, dancing, the arts, and a good cup of coffee from Café Carlito’s.
Survivors include her three brothers, Lewis Basbagill (Julie), niece Evie of Franklin, IN; David Basbagill (Rae), niece Aria of Carmel, IN; Derek Basbagill (Jennifer), nephew Zeke and niece Zoey of Indianapolis, IN; her uncle and aunt who raised her, Ken and Debbie Stephens of Nineveh, IN; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Susan (Simmons) Basbagill; and a brother Benjamin Joseph Basbagill.
The Reverend Adam Tallent will conduct a graveside service Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11AM at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN. Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN is handling the arrangements.
