Obituary for Reginald D. Hartman

Reginald D. Hartman, 83 of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018. He was born July 24, 1934 in Hartford, New York to Albert W. and Ella L. (Jones) Hartman. He married Annie C. (Stargel) Hartman on February 10, 1979 at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, IN, she preceded him in death on June 12, 2015.
Reginald was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War having served a total of 23 years in the U.S. Army retiring in 1979. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Franklin, IN, Franklin Masonic Lodge #107, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, the Johnson County Shrine Club, and past president of the Franklin Lions Club. He was a longtime volunteer at the Artcraft Theater in Franklin, IN. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling with his late wife Annie.
Survivors include his daughter Patricia A. Christensen of Hayden, Idaho; stepchildren Debrah Singleton (Chip) of Lexington, KY, and David Kimbler (Colleen) of Greer, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Andrew Kimbler, Michael Kimbler, Judson Singleton, Jacob Singleton; and best friends Kimberli, Brent, Aliah, and Deliah Linneman all of Franklin, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother Gary Hartman; and a sister Alice Ellis.
Chaplain Brian Curry will conduct a service Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 4PM till 8PM at the mortuary where a masonic service will take place at 7:30PM. Burial with military honors will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Artcraft Theater, 57 North Main Street, Franklin, IN, 46131.
