Barbara K. (Alsop) Walenga, 80 of Franklin, IN. passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was born February 25, 1938 to Lawrence and Marjorie (Borroughs) Alsop.
She was a graduate of Rushville High School, received her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, and her master’s degree from Butler University. She had been a school teacher for the Indianapolis Public Schools for 29 years having taught at school #21.
Survivors include her son Mike D. Walenga (Jennifer) two grandchildren Richard Walenga and Jessica Walenga.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother John Alsop.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin where friends may call from 10:30AM till service time at the mortuary.
