Obituary for Lois Ann (Inabnitt) Newell

Lois Ann (Inabnitt) Newell, 82, of Greenwood, IN, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at University Heights Health and Living Community in Indianapolis, IN. She was born May 19, 1935 in Somerset, KY to H. Nelson Inabnitt and Stella V. (McCallister) Inabnitt. She married David R. Newell on October 2, 1953 in Waverly, IN, he preceded he in death in January of 1987.
She was a 1953 graduate of Center Grove High School in Greenwood, IN and attended Indiana Business College in Indianapolis, IN. She was the co-owner of 4-Way Realty in Stones Crossing, Greenwood for many years and sold real estate for over 45 years having retired from RE/MAX Realty. She was past Worthy Matron of Trafalgar Order of The Eastern Star and a member of the Metropolitan Board of Realtors. She was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood, IN.
Survivors include her children Darlene Newell Windhorst (David) of Greenwood, IN, Brenda Richards (Brian Goodwin) of Greenwood, IN, Mark R. Newell (Linda) of Bargersville, IN; grandchildren Angela Jacks, Eric Richards (Cathy), Aaron Richards (Angela), Ashley Richards, Michael Newell Piercy, and Holly Newell; great- grandchildren Caleb Volp, Addison and Piper Richards, Brady and Makenzie Richards; sister Doris Graves of Racine, WI, and Wilda Rohr (Butch) of Greenwood, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband David R. Newell; a son Michael David Newell; a grandson Daniell Newell; brothers Kenneth Inabnitt, Nelson Inabnitt; and a sister Barbara Kurrasch.
Reverend Marty Bales will conduct a private family service at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial, Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Entombment will take place in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Lois’s grandson Michael Newell Piercy cancer fund for chemotherapy, radiation, and extensive surgery, it was her desire to help him financially through these treatments, in care of Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) Franklin, IN, 46131, make checks payable to Michael Newell Piercy.
