Obituary for Johann Nargang

Johann Nargang, 89, of Greenwood, IN passed away peacefully Sunday, January 28, 2018 at his residence surrounded by family and friends. He was born on November 24, 1928 in Romania to Jacob and Albine (Keller) Nargang. He married Hilda (Klupper) Nargang on September 23, 1961 in Montreal, Canada and moved to the United States a few years later.
Johann was a Master Tailor his entire adult life and self-employed for over 20 years in the Indianapolis area. During his career he created and tailored clothing for many people including Archbishop-Emeritus Daniel M. Buechlein. A personal favorite was an Elvis Presley costume for a professional impersonator. He was a member of SS. Francis & Clare Catholic Church in Greenwood, IN, Knights of Columbus Greenwood Council #16305, and active in an Inter Faith Bible Study in Greenwood, IN. He was a frequent bargain hunter and could be found scouring auctions throughout central Indiana.
Survivors include his loving wife Hilda Nargang of Greenwood, IN; children James Frank Nargang (Lynn) of Cleveland, OH, Karen Ann Ross of Greenwood, IN, Robert John Nargang (Linda Anne DiMeglio) of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren William Nargang, Lillian Nargang, Kathryn Elizabeth Ross, Richard Indiana Nargang, Luciano Joseph Nargang and Maximilian Apollo Nargang.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Adolf Nargang and Rosa Hopert.
Father Stephen W. Giannini will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 12 Noon at SS. Francis & Clare Roman Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, in Greenwood, IN. Friends may call Saturday from 11 AM until service time at the church. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery and Mausoleum in Indianapolis, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gabriel Project, in care of SS. Francis & Clare Roman Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood, IN, 46143.
