Hilda Gay (Maupin) Arney, 76, of Franklin, IN, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 25, 1941 in Casey County, KY, to Ray and Alta (Anderson) Maupin. She married Roscoe Dean Arney on April 18, 1981 in Johnson County, IN, he preceded her in death on March 25, 2017. She had been a certified nursing assistant for 30 years having worked at the Franklin United Methodist Community and Indiana Masonic Home.
She enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles, especially loved the holidays, and assisting in raising her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Jeanenne Bolt of Franklin, IN, Jeanette Bolt Tyler (Tim) of Merritt Island, FL, Jeff Bolt of Trafalgar, IN, Chris Bolt (Gina) of Franklin, IN, Robert Allen Arney (Marvilou) of the Philippines, Ronald Dean Arney (Carrie) of Indianapolis, IN, Michael Joseph Arney (Sadie) of Morgantown, IN, Joseph Allen Arney (Shana) of Salem, IN, Janet Peavler of Franklin, IN; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers Johnny Maupin (Joyce) of Casey County, KY, Bobby Maupin (Marcella) of Casey County, KY; a sister Helen Puteet of Casey County, KY; and a brother-in-law Charlie Meek of Casey County, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother Jim Maupin; and two sisters Betty Meeks and Hazel Jeanette “Tommi” Morgan.
Pastor Tim Davis will conduct a service Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 3PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, where friends may call Thursday from 1PM till service time at the mortuary.
