Freddie Lee Waters Jr., 65, of Franklin, IN, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 29, 1952 at Camp Rucker, Alabama to Freddie Lee Waters and Annie Will (Danford) Waters. He served 20 years in the United States Army, retiring as Sergeant First Class in 1994.
He received his associates degree from IVY Tech. He enjoyed sports, fishing, Auburn Football, and watching his sons play sports. He also enjoyed classic country, and rock and roll music. He was a loving father and friend.
Survivors include his four sons David L. Waters (Sharon) of Quitman, GA, Freddie L. Waters III (A. Keeley Payne) of Franklin, IN, Bennie T. Waters (Catherine Bates) of Indianapolis, IN, Donnie R. Waters (Grace Seibert) of Indianapolis, IN; his mother Annie Will (Danford) Waters of Level Plains, AL; friend and former spouse Karen L. (Glesing) Waters of Franklin, IN; and one granddaughter Emily Waters.
He was preceded in death by his father Freddie Lee Waters and his brother Thomas Stanley Waters.
The Reverend Shan Rutherford will conduct a service Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4-8PM at the mortuary and Saturday from 12 Noon till service time. Burial with full military honors conducted by Franklin American Legion Post 205 Honor Guard will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
