Obituary for Thomas Dale Beasley

Thomas Dale Beasley, 83, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Franklin, IN passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born November 15, 1934 in Indianapolis, IN to Earl and Dorothy (Gordon) Beasley and was raised in the Fountain Square area of Indianapolis, IN.
He attended public schooling at I.P.S. 28 and 8, and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. He also attended Milligan College in Tennessee for one and half years and earned a two year associate degree in Industrial Engineering Technology at I.U.P.U.I. He married Marjorie Lucille (Webber) Beasley on April 13, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN having lived in Indiana, California, Michigan, Virginia, Ohio, and back in Indiana, she preceded him in death on April 29, 2013.
He worked as a material handling engineer for several companies that supplied distribution and packaging operations. His last occupation was as a draftsman for an engineering company that designed buildings and farmsteads for livestock operations. The second love of his life was Community Theater. He has designed and or built sets for play at 10 different theaters. He was on the board of directors of the Indiana Community Theater Association. He was a United States Army Veteran having served from 1957 till 1960 with the rank of Specialist 4th Class.
Survivors include his sons Thomas Beasley II (Sandy) of Indianapolis, IN and Jon Beasley (Joann) of Dearborn, MI; grandchildren Ryan Beasley (Kristi Greenwalt) of Franklin, IN, Mike Beasley of Dearborn, MI, Hannah Greenwalt and Gracelyn Greenwalt both of Franklin, IN, Julie Dieterle (Roger) of Camby, IN, and Becky Thompson of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchildren Gracelyn Greenwalt, Hannah Greenwalt, Maverick Beasley, Zach Beasley (Kelsee Carter), Carolyn McKinney, Marliegh Carter, Ashley and George Beezley, Kinzey Brant, Chris Beezley, Bray Beezley, Owen Elkins, Mike Lowry, A.J. Beezley, Kayla Lamon, Andie Holladay, Kayden Thompson (Heidi Fansler), Evan Dieterle, and Jessica Dieterle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marjorie Beasely; and two brothers Earl Beasley and Robert Beasley; and a great-grandaughter Faith Beasley.
Services are private with inurnment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN. There will be a “Final Toast” and gathering of family and friends at the Artcraft Theater in Franklin, IN on February 25, 2018 from 2P.M. to 6P.M. so everyone can come together and have a drink and remember him. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Artcraft Theater, 57 North Main Street, Franklin, IN, 46131.
